Springer and Labster partner to bring the future of science education to thousands of German students
Copenhagen - November 26, 2018 - Today Springer and Labster announce their partnership to bring engaging lab simulations to the thousands of students using Springer resources. Springer and Labster will through this partnership shape the future of science education as they together launch new learning material that will change the way students learn science.
With a shared vision to improve science education globally, Springer and Labster have created four booklets for biology in higher education. The books are aligned with Springer’s most popular biology textbooks today. This means that the new booklets will have a major impact as they provide new and improved learning material for the most relevant topics to prepare students for their exams.
Each chapter of the booklet covers the basic concepts of a topic, and is followed by a Labster simulation that the student can use to solidify and test their knowledge and practice the techniques that they have read about with a hands-on lab experience. This is made possible by multiple choice questions, 3D animations and cutting-edge lab equipment that is available to the student through the virtual labs.
“The partnership between Labster and Springer will allow students to solidify and apply what they learn through a combination of Springer’s resources and Labster’s immersive virtual labs. Our labs give students a unique opportunity to step into a laboratory and experiment with advanced machines. They can explore, test their knowledge, watch 3D animations, do experiments, make mistakes and try again, all within a safe learning environment. The first step in this collaboration involves the launch of the first two Labster-authored booklets which covers theory in Basic Genetics and Basic Biology. Each booklet includes access to five virtual laboratory simulations that provide students with the unique opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a true-to-life laboratory. In spring 2019, two more booklets will be launched covering theory in Basic Biochemistry and Genetics of Human Diseases.
